What Rishab has to say about the bike..

1.What do you call your bike and why?
A.I call it "the fighter" – for its lean muscular look and aggressive stance

2.Is she your first bike? If not what did you own before this?
A.I've had a few before. Started with a Yamaha R1 – a "crazy crotch rocket". Then had a Hayabusa and a Kawasaki Ninja 14R at the same time. Both were awesome machines with amazing power. The Busa was more "litre-bike" like in its stance with incredible acceleration, while the 14R was more like a "sport-touring" bike with a butter smooth engine and jet-like pulling power once you got past the 4k mark on the tacho

3.Was it love at first sight or a product of long term research?
A.A bit of both. I fell in love with the the fighter the first time I laid eyes on it. At that time, I never thought I would own such a machine. Then Ducati came to India and the opportunity to own this crazy machine presented itself. Initially I was a bit apprehensive about the practicality of owning a Ducati and that too such an aggressive one , but a few hours spent on the internet allayed those concerns. The rest as they say is history….

4.Explain what went through your mind during the months before you managed to lay your hands on it?
A.Not much. The dealer had the bike on the show-room floor. Once I was convinced that I wanted to go for the fighter, we negotiated a good deal and I had the bike in my hands within 2 days.

5.First impression when you saw her all gleaming and polished.
A.Awesome……freaking awesome !!

6.How long have you had the bike for and how many kilometers have you clocked.
A.I've had it for about 4 months and done about 2800Kms on it thus far

7.What the best attribute of the bike
A.The fighter to me a great balance between incredible looks and amazing performance. That a single bike can do this, is a testimony to Ducati's design creativity and engineering prowess.

8.What’s irritates you most about the bike?
A.It has no wind protection, so at speeds above 160Km/h the wind blast put a lot of pressure on the rider. What further compounds the situation is that the bike gets to these speeds in the blink of an eye.

9.What part of the bike would you change and why?
A.I've made a few changes. Put on a Termignoni exhaust, primarily for the sound and better fueling (the Termis come with a remapped ECU and free flow air filter). Then I've added protectors for the radiator, oil-cooler and frame this helps keeping that area safe from pebbles on the road. Finally I've added a Ducati Performance (DP)Touring seat which is far more comfortable than the stock seat. I plan to add a DP fairing to it soon…to increase the wind protection somewhat.

10.What does your riding gear comprise of and which brand suits you the most?
A.I have a ton of gear (something my wife really beats me up for). Here are the highlights
• Jackets (mesh for summer and fully synthetic for winter) – Joe Rocket, Alpine Stars, Dianese, Rjays, Komine …all with shoulder, knee and back protection (in fact I also have a Joe Rocket back protector that I mostly wear below my Jacket for added safety)
• Pants – Joe Rocket and Rjays all weather riding pants (again with appropriate hip and knee protection)
• Boots – Alpine Stars, Joe Rocket and Puma
• Gloves – have a half dozen or so of various brands and colors
• Helmets – Shoei, Arai, AGV, Joe Rocket…and a few more (Including a bright orange Nolan helmet famously christened by the group as "The Santra")

11.If you’d cheat on your bike, with which would it be?
A.At this time, cant think of anything more tempting…but its still early days with the figher
12.Is she girlfriend material or long term wife material?
A.Probably a girlfriend that could eventually become a wife 

13.Do you believe in cosmetic customization, If yes then what have you done on it?
A.I've done a bit. Added a carbon fibre tank guard, upgraded my mirrors to some nice looking ones from DP and have a few other cosmetic mods in mind that I will execute over time.

14.What according to you is the best mod to extract a little more bhp? What accessories did you spend your money on?
A.The best mod is to put on a full system exhaust complete with free-flow air filter and a fueling remap. The other modification that changes the power delivery could be the sprocketing….but that’s uncharted territory for me

15.Is she high on maintenance? Have you run into any electrical/mechanical issues?
A.So far not. Touch wood !

16.What do you feed her? (what oil what petrol?)
A.Oil – Mobile 1. Pertrol – 97 Octane

17.Tell me about the day she made you feel like a superstar!
A.She does not make me feel like a superstar but brings out the biker in me better than any other bike I have previously owned. She is a demanding machine…extremely responsive on both the throttle and braking with incredible handling…so you need to be constantly doing the right thing to enjoy her fully and safely – that’s what I love most about the fighter.

18.What does your wife/girl friend think about her?
A.My wife loves the fighter too…..she's been a great supporter of my riding passion !!

19.Do you service it on your own? Or trust the mechanic at the service center?
A.I prefer to take it to the Ducati service shop

20.What’s the maximum three digit figure you’ve seen on the Speedo?
A.About 220 Km/h
